Will the 4G module work when mower is turned off?

Modified on Wed, 11 Feb at 8:06 AM

Yes, the 4G module can also function when the robotic lawn mower is switched off – provided the battery is sufficiently charged.

The module does not have its own battery and is powered exclusively by the robotic lawn mower's battery. Depending on the charge level, the 4G module can remain active for several days to approx. 30 days when switched off.

However, it operates in energy-saving mode:

  • Location data is only transmitted at longer intervals.
  • When the battery level is low, the transmission frequency is reduced further.
  • If the battery is completely discharged, the module is no longer powered and no longer sends data – the robotic lawnmower is displayed as offline in the app.

In addition:

If the robotic lawn mower remains stationary for a longer period of time (approx. 10 days), the 4G module can switch to an extended sleep mode.

The 4G module thus offers additional protection even when switched off, but no permanent real-time monitoring, as the function is always dependent on the battery level and energy management.
