What scenarios can Lidar mower handle?

Modified on Tue, 17 Feb at 12:40 PM

Lidar mower emit light to the surface of an object and calculate the distance to the object by calculating the time difference between emission and reception. If the environment is very open and there is no reference object, the mower cannot achieve positioning and cannot work. Here are some typical scenarios.

a. If there are reference objects on all four sides of the garden, due to the limited detection range of lidar, the machine is only suitable for gardens with a single direction not exceeding 50m.

b. If the garden has only two reference sides, then the mower only supports gardens with a single direction less than 25m, and the height of the reference objects needs to be higher than 2.5m.

If trees are planted or fences are added on both sides without reference objects in this scenario, the supported distance will be the same as in the above scenario.

c. Scenario like the one below, which only have a reference side in a single direction, are completely unsuitable for Lidar mower.
